Service Event: Better World Books

Have old textbooks that you can’t sell back?

Don't throw them away, donate them to a good cause and help give children an education!

We are ending the semester with a book drive through Better World Books.  This organization helps to end the cycle of poverty through literacy and education.  They work with several non-profit literacy partners such as Books for Africa, Room to Read, and the National Center for Family Literacy.  Because we are partnering with Room to Read, your donations will benefit children in Southeast Asia.  Among other things, Room to Read has established almost 200 schools and over 2,500 libraries!  They have also fully funded an education for almost 2,000 girls, with a total of about 875,000 children impacted!  With your help, this number will grow.

What can you do?

All you have to do is put books in the drop boxes conveniently located around campus!  Also, encourage your friends, roommates, and classmates to donate books by telling them about this great cause!  A list of campus locations can be viewed Here.  These locations will have boxes at them until the end of finals week.  Also, if you are interested in being more involved, you can send an email to bwb@fsugoldenkey.com for more info.
